Ramon Gonzalez, Jr., 54, formerly of Littlefield, Texas and Little Rock, Arkansas left this life for his eternal home on June 3, 2023. He was born August 1, 1968 in Lubbock, Texas to Ramon Sr. and Maria (Hernandez) Gonzalez.

Ramon was a graduate of Littlefield High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He deployed for the Gulf War during Operation Desert Storm with the 2nd Armored Division "Hell on Wheels" as a combat medic. He was known to his fellow comrades as "Chicano Medic". After his time in the military, he became a jack of all trades. He worked various jobs through-out his life, all with a smile and pride.

Later in life he became a free spirit and wanderer but his heart belonged to and was in Arkansas. He enjoyed being able to travel aimlessly around the United States and encounter new people and experiences. He always carried an optimistic, upbeat personality regardless of what life threw at him. He never met a stranger nor did he ever run out of things to talk about. He was known for his contagious smile and way of always making others laugh. He had a passion for helping others, especially fellow Veterans. Whether it was a simple conversation or the clothes off his back he was always willing to help others.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Bella and Mateo Gonzalez of Arkansas, Andrea Gonzalez of Texas, and Savannah Gonzalez of Nebraska; his sister, Rose Mary Gonzalez of Littlefield; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Those awaiting him at the gates of Heaven were his parents; his son, Elijah Gonzalez; and his sisters, Connie Perez and Deborah Seip.

A memorial service and full military burial will be held at the Little Rock National Cemetary in Arkansas. Cremation services are under the care of Forest Funeral Home in Olympia, Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to any Military Veteran charity.
