In Loving Memory Of Olene Kerby Jan. 9, 1928 ~ June 5, 2024

Olene Kerby, 96, of Amherst, Texas, passed away Wednesday June 5, 2024, in Amherst, Texas. She was born January 9, 1928, in Winters, Texas to Will and Molly Pierce. She married James Kerby on March 2, 1946, in Mina, Arkansas.

Olene enjoyed being outside, she spent many hours out in her yard and her garden. She liked to build/make things such as flower boxes and many other items for her garden and yard. She was a talented seamstress. She was known to be a creative cook and could make a wonderful meal even from an empty cupboard. She played the guitar. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

Olene is survived by a son, John Kerby of Shallowater, Texas; three daughters, Linda Raney of Levelland, Texas, Brenda Kelton of Littlefield, Texas, and Cindy Savage of Bay City, Texas; eleven grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and twenty-four great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Oleta Williams of Littlefield, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kerby; five brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday afternoon, June 8, 2024, at Grace Chapel in Littlefield, Texas with Pastor Allen Hutto officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Chadd Kelton, Justin Savage, Rhett Kerby, Landon Kerby, Gunner Kerby and Roper Kerby. Interment followed in Littlefield Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
