Marcelino Garcia, Sr. 57, of Littlefield went home with Jesus on Jan. 1, 2021. He was born to Valentine Garcia, Sr. and Felipa Elizondo on Dec. 29, 1963 in Olton, TX.

He married the love of his life Jesusa (Susie) Duran Garcia on Dec. 3, 1982 in Littlefield and were married for 38 years. He graduated from Olton High School in 1983. He played football for the Mustangs #70 and got 1st team offensive lineman and 1st team defensive lineman his senior year.

On June 4, 1983 he started working at American Cotton Growers and was there for 33 years until it shut down. He started working at Littlefield Primary School in 2015 and was blessed to be there until his passing. He loved working there and loved all the kids that walked through the doors and his coworkers. He was also the bus coordinator for the Wildcat band for several years and loved helping Miss A. He loved supporting his kids and grandkids in Wildcat sports. He was a God fearing man and family meant everything to him. He loved getting together to barbecue and his family called him “The Grillmaster”. He loved his Garcia last name and said it was #1 in the whole world. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech Red Raiders fan. He attended mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and was a Cursillista since 1986 and loved hearing Fr. Angelo say “De Colores!”

He was preceded in death by his parents; his baby, Angel; his sister, Marylou Almanza; and his first niece, Lulu Almanza and his beloved “suegros” (in-laws), David and Erlinda Duran.

His survivors include his wife; his children, Britney and Marcus Garcia all of the home, LaCretia Flores (Jeremy) and Marcelino Garcia Jr. (Cassandra) all of Lubbock, Amanda Barrera (Evan) and Erlinda Brake (Landry) all of Littlefield. His 14 grandchildren, Devin, Lucas Jr., Dylan, Haylee, Kamryn, Alaina, Baylor, Gabriella, Katelyn, Shane, Brooklyn, Skyven, Danielle and Hannah. His sister, Marlyn Martinez ofAustin, brothers, David Garcia of Olton, Gilbert Garcia (Martha) ofAmarillo, Ricky Garcia (Elva) of Lamesa, Valentine Garcia, Jr. of Washington, and Danny Garcia (Laura) of Wolfforth.

Rosary will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Graveside services will be on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery with Ft Angelo Consemino, officiating. Pallbearers will be Marcelino Garcia, Jr., Devin Garcia, Lucas Casas, Jr., Dylan Flores, Gilbert Garcia, Gerardo Duran, Sr., Mario Garza, and Eliseo Almanza, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Tito Duran, David Garcia, Baylor Brake, Shane Barrera and Skyven Garcia.
