Linda Herrera Briones, 70, of Littlefield passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 in Littlefield. She was born September 5, 1951 in Amherst to Paul Polando Sr. and Theresa (Castillo) Polando.
Linda married Jesse Briones, and the couple enjoyed listening to music, dancing and getting together with friends and family. He passed away December 8, 2018. She was a wonderful "grandma" or "mom" to her grandchildren, and she truly loved her family. Linda was a friendly person and would always go out of her way to help others. She worked at Anthony's Department Store in Littlefield for many years, before going to work at United Supermarkets in Littlefield, where she was employed for the last 14 years. She made many friends over the years working at the store, and her smile and friendly face will be missed by many.
Linda is survived by three daughters, Alice Herrera of Littlefield, Carolyn Herrera Hernandez and husband, Peter of Lubbock and Melissa Medina and husband, Bernardo Jr. of Littlefield; ten grand-children, Crystal Dawn Perez and husband, Bo of Abernathy, Lahoja Hernandez of Lubbock, Gabriel Hernandez and wife, Anahi of San Antonio, Josh Hernandez of Hawaii, Alvardo Hernandez of Lubbock, Matthew Medina of Littlefield, Michael Medina and wife, Cassandra of Littlefield, Sara Medina of Littlefield, Moses Medina of Littlefield and Samira Medina of Littlefield; ten great-grandchildren and one on the way, Ezekiel Perez, Ambrosio Perez and Jo’David Perez all of Abernathy, Maricella Hernandez and Araceli Sanchez both of Lubbock, Donavin Medina, Nehemiah Medina, Alianna Medina, Loyalty Martinez and Arabella Rodgers all of Littlefield; three sisters, Angela Montavo of Littlefield, Lydia Rendon Rodriguez and husband, Jack of Plainview and Helen Rodriguez and husband, Pete of Plainview; a brother, Bobby Polando of Littlefield; and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Briones; her parents; and a brother, Paul Polando Jr.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, October 28, 2021 at Grace Chapel in Littlefield with Rey Serna officiating. Interment followed in Littlefield Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers were Matthew Medina, Michael Medina, Moses Medina, Bo Perez, Jacob Montalvo, Daniel Lee Rendon and Derick Rodgers. Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
