In Loving Memory Of Lavern Hartley

Lavern Hartley, 98, of Littlefield, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 in Littlefield. She was born Feb. 2, 1923 in Vernon, TX to Bob and Dorothy Crawford.

Lavern married James C. Hartley on Oct. 12, 1943 in Amherst. She worked several years at Western Auto in Littlefield as a bookkeeper. She liked to travel and “go” and was a wonderful baker. Lavern loved life and loved people. More than anything, she loved being a “Nannie Vern” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Dennis Hartley of Littlefield; two daughters, Randy Asselin of Arkansas and Darlene Diersing of Littlefield; six grandchildren, Phillip Asselin, Jimmy Asselin, Carrie Hanlin, Kim Jackson, Ben Hartley and Nikki Friday; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Hartley on June 26, 1998; two sons, Ricky Hartley and Terry Hartley; her parents; two brothers and one sister.

Graveside services were held Monday, May 24, 2021 at Littlefield Memorial Park with Pastor Tanner Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Seth Hartley, Jett Hartley, Karson Hanlin, Tanner Jackson, Ben Hartley, Cary Hanlin and Delbert Jackson. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
