In Loving Memory Of Jennie Davis

Feb. 18, 1948 ~ Feb. 16, 2026

Jennie Davis, 77, was born February 18, 1948, to Quentin and Wilma Adams in Plainview, Texas. She died Monday, February 16, 2026.

Her early life was spent with her mom and dad in various places including Pecos, Texas. She began school in 1954 in Plainview and transferred to Lockney in 1956 when her mother began teaching there. In high school she received many honors, including being named Miss LHS, Class Beauty, Miss Senior Class, Football Queen, Homecoming Queen, and Head Cheerleader. After graduating from Lockney High School, she entered Texas Tech and graduated with a home economics degree in Clothing and Textiles in 1970. In 1969, she married Danny Davis. Shortly after graduation, Danny joined the U.S. Air Force and spent three and a half years in Biloxi, Mississippi. While there, she worked at Gayfers which was an upscale department store. After leaving the service, she and Danny returned to Lubbock.

Jennie began having medical problems during this time and had stomach surgery. After Danny gained his master's degree, they moved to Littlefield, where he began working for the American Cotton Growers denim plant. During their early years in Littlefield, she had more surgeries and continued to have health issues. When she was well enough, she worked for Lamb County Leader-News and at the Country House. Her health continued to decline, and she was diagnosed with an immune deficiency, which limited her activities due to having to be isolated to a degree to avoid exposure to infectious diseases. Jennie was baptized at a young age at Camp Blue Haven and continued to love Jesus the rest of her life. She and Danny were members of the Crescent Park Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and her brother, Milton.

She is survived by her husband, Danny; her sister-in-law, Donna; and several cousins. She will be missed. Graveside services for Jennie Davis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Lockney Cemetery in Lockney, Texas with Jim Harris officiating.

Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
