Oct. 2, 1963 ~ June 1, 2026
It is with great sadness that the Lemer family announces the passing of Jeffrey Richard Lemer, 62, of Amherst, Texas on Monday, June 1, 2026. He was born on October 2, 1963, in Sacramento, California to Richard Garold Lemer and Doris Lemer (Leathers).
Jeff graduated from Amherst ISD in 1981. He had two brothers that he was close with and they all kept each other company growing up. Jeff was a father to three children whom he loved deeply. His grandchildren loved him and would refer to him as their 'PaPa' or 'Grandpa Jeffy.' In addition to being part of a loving family that he created, he also enjoyed fishing with his dad at the lake. They would spend hours at the lake laughing and making memories. He carried on with this tradition with his sons. Those who knew Jeff would describe him as being a presence that everyone enjoyed having around. He was goofy and straightforward. Jeff had a great sense of humor. He did what he wanted and when he wanted. His free spirit was admirable. Jeff liked to get out when he could, including going on vacation with his children. Above all, Jeff was a 'mama's boy.' Jeff was exceptionally close to his mom, and anyone could see how much he truly loved his momma.
Being adventurous was Jeff's nature. He rooted on his favorite NFL team any chance he got. Jeff loved the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed admiring the beauty of sports cars. Jeff had a Harley Davidson that he rode in his spare time. The mischief and fascination associated with true crime, CSI, or reading crime novels kept Jeff entertained. He was also an avid gun enthusiast. While memories were made with all of his children, Jeff enjoyed playing poker with his son, Kenneth. While Jeff's family finds peace in his absence, they will continue to find comfort in the countless memories he left behind.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three children, Marc Lemer and wife, April of Littlefield, Texas, Kenneth Rene Lemer and his wife, Anyssa of Lubbock, Texas, and Lindsy Lemer of Littlefield, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Xander Lemer, Mason Lemer, Ryan Lemer, Adalyn Mata, Nicholas Mata, Isaiah Cisneros, Aracely Cisneros, Javier Cisneros Jr., Kobe Lemer, Kaleb Lemer, and Kambri Lemer; two brothers, Terry Lemer of Amherst, Texas, and Joe Lemer of Littlefield, Texas.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Garold Lemer and Doris Lemer.
