Helen Louise Bassett, 88, of Littlefield, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Lubbock.

Funeral services were to be Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 2 p.m., at the Crescent Park Church of Christ, with Bill Rodgers and Bryson Holley officiating.

Burial followed at Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home.

She was born March 5, 1933 in Littlefield, to her parents, Marvin and Rita Wagner.

Helen married Orville Lee Bassett on Sept. 3, 1950 in Littlefield. She adored her family, her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She loved her Lord, and she enjoyed her garden flowers and watching the birds. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, and watching sports. She loved her life, living in Littlefield, and was a friend to everyone.

Helen worked at First National Bank and then moved to First Federal Savings and Loan, where she retired from a vice-president position in 2006, at the age of 73.

She was a long-time member of the Crescent Park Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Lee Bassett on Feb. 10, 1982; her parents, Marvin Wagner in 2005, and Rita Wagner in 2017.

She is survived by two daughters: Denice Sides and husband, Ray, of Littlefield; Dana Hinkle and husband, Barry, of Stratford, Okla; five grandchildren: Jeremy Sides and wife, Teresa of Amherst, Amber Brune and husband, Beau, of Edmond, Okla., Jennifer Childers and husband, Casey of Temple, Tx., Bryson Holley and wife, Stevie, of Tulsa, Okla; and Emilee Holley of Edmond, Okla.; five great-grandchildren: Garrett and Corbin Childers; and Eli, Blake and Carson Brune.
