Church service for Guadalupe Montes, age 62, of Sudan, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February, 7, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Sudan with Pastor Billy Montes of Sudan, officiating. Burial will be in Sudan Cemetery. Guadalupe went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 24, 2026, in Sudan. He was born December 12, 1963 in Hale Center, Texas to Vicente Sr. and Blasa (Avila) Montes. He married Rebecca Anita Vasquez in Sudan on May 22, 1998.
Guadalupe was a great storyteller. He loved his family and was their constant protector. Guadalupe was always true to himself, and was the best husband, father, brother and uncle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Roy Montes and Richard Montes.
Guadalupe is survived by his wife, Rebecca; his three sons, Lupe Montes, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, Richard Damion Montes and his wife, Alexandra of Littlefield, Texas and Damion Montes and his wife, Natalia of San Antonio; nine sisters, Estella Andrade of Sudan, Texas, Irma Jaramillo and her husband, Martin of Sudan, Texas, Nancy Salinas of Plainview, Texas, Yolanda Camacho and her husband, Freddie of Sudan, Texas, Delma Vargas and her husband, Anesimo of San Antonio, Texas, Olga Padilla and her husband, Alex of Amarillo, Texas, Mary Antillon and her husband, Ricky of Bovina, Texas, Anita Torres and her husband, Joe of Sudan, Texas and Emma Arambula of San Antonio, Texas; six brothers, Vicente Montes, Jr. and his wife, Gloria of Sudan, Texas, Alejandro Montes and his wife, Linda of San Antonio, Texas, Raul Montes and his partner, Anthony of Amarillo, Texas, David Montes and his wife, Nancy of Littlefield, Texas, Erny Montes and his wife, Courtney of Sudan, Texas and Billy Montes and his wife, Rosalinda of Sudan, Texas; and his only grandchild, Natly Montes.
