Donald Lee Powell
Graveside service for Donald Lee Powell, 81 of Sudan, TX, was held at 11 a. m., Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 at the Sudan Cemetery in Sudan with Terry Wilson of Sudan officiating.
Donald died Friday, Aug. 28, 2020 in Lubbock. He was born July 2, 1939 in Lamb County, TX to Forest and Minnie (Hillis) Powell. He married Linda Parrish in Sudan, on Sept. 7, 1961.
Donald enjoyed his Thursday morning coffee in Muleshoe with the boys, and the luncheons at Tolk Station with his past eoworkers. He loved working for the Sudan school and watching the Sudan Hornet football team. Donald also enjoyed watching westerns and square dancing.
He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; one sister, Wanda Boone.
Donald is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Baker and her husband, Reagan of Sudan, and Laura Martin and her husband, Phillip of Abernathy, TX; his two brothers, Dwayne Powell of Sudan, and Ronald Powell ofTulsa, OK; his three grandchildren, Jordan Thompson, Trevor Thompson and Sarah Martin; and his two great-grandchildren, Audrey Thompson and Olivia Thompson.
