In Loving Memory Of Ada Katherine 'Kakie’ Smith

Family and friends recently gathered to celebrate the life of Ada Katherine “Kakie” Smith.

Kakie was born Aug. 20, 1940 in Littlefield, and died July 30, 2020 in Smyer. She was the daughter of the now late Luid Estelle Wilson and the late Fay Maudine Wilson.

She married her sweetheart, Billy Madison Smith, in 1958 in Littlefield.

Kakie is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Noel Edd Wilson and Charles Ned Wilson; and a grandson, Matthew Braydon Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years; her children, Tammy and Jay Harwell of Lubbock, Jacki and Brady Gass of New Home, Steven and Jami Smith of Smyer, and Katherine Smith of Dallas; two sisters, Jean Eller of Levelland and Nell Robinson of Greenville.

For many years, Kakie enjoyed collecting antiques of all kinds and she was especially proud of her extensive doll collection. Kakie was a Christian and grew up in the Assembly of God Church.

“Granny”, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, is also survived by six grandchildren: Nicole, Brenon, Dustin, Madison, Hunter and Maegan; and three great-grandchildren: Kenneth, Kameron and Carson.

We will all miss you Granny.
