JOE L. ABEYTA

Joe L. Abeyta, Sr., 73, of Littlefield, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, in Lubbock. Rosary was said Sunday evening, Nov. 15, 2020, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olton. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 16, 2020, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olton with Fr. Jacob Powell officiating. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Littlefield under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Joe Louis Abeyta, Sr. was born Feb. 5, 1947, in Fort Sumner, NM, to Casimiro and Isabel (Ocana) Abeyta. Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He married Alice Rendon in 1975. Joe worked at American Cotton Growers for over 12 years and was a golden glove champion boxer in his younger years. He enjoyed sports and hunting.
