Jim Jones, 86, longtime resident ofLittlefield, went to be with his Lord Monday, Sept. 13,2021 in Lubbock. He was born May 2, 1935 in Anton, Texas to R.P and Annie (Robertson) Jones.

Jim graduated from Anton High School, then furthered his education at Texas Tech University, majoring in Business Finance. He married his high school sweetheart, Jane Ann Whitfield on July 13, 1956 in Anton. They moved to Albuquerque, NM for a few years, then moved back to Littlefield in 1963. He owned and operated JL Jones Oil Company in Littlefield for many years. Jim proudly served in the Naval Reserves for eight years. He had a servants heati, and that was evident in his involvement in many community organizations and committees. He was a member of the Littlefield Noon Lions Club for over 65 years, and he served as Past District Governor. Jim was also a longtime member of Littlefield Masomc Lodge # 1161, and a member of the Shriner's. He served on the Littlefield Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for numerous years and served as the Executive Director for many years. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Littlefield, where he served on almost every committee at some pomt over the years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and traveling to the Colorado mountains. Jim was also a talented woodworker. He was a kind and honorable man, who was witty and had a great sense of humor.

Jim is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jane Atm Jones currently of Lubbock; a daughter, Diane Shank and husband, Keith of Carrollton, Texas; a son, Alan Jones and wife, Kimberly ofMidland, Texas; three grandchildren, Kyra Shank, Kassidy Vaughan and Dakota Jones; a great-grandson, Jack Alan Vaughan; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Raymond Jones, Glen Jones and Chester Jones; and a sister Lola Jones.

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday,' Sept. 16, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Littlefield with Rev. Beth Harrington and Rev .. Danny Sanders officiating. A private family graveside service with Masonic Rites was held prior. Serving as pallbearers were Tim Walker, Kip Cutshall, Andrew Eisen wine, Louis Boomer, Johnny Vargas and Mark McClendon. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Fist United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
