Jesus “Pops” DeLaCruz, 79, of Olton, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, in Lubbock, TX. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, at Trinity Baptist Church in Olton with Brother Joel Perez officiating. Interment followed at Olton Cemetery under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors. A celebration of life service was held Monday evening, October 4, at Trinity Baptist Church.
Jesus was born Oct. 22, 1941, in Guerrero, Coahuila, Mexico, to Antonio and Maria (Castillon) DeLaCruz. He married San Juana Hernandez on April 3, 1966. He moved to Olton in 1986 from Laredo and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading, singing, and watching baseball and boxing. Jesus was a talented cook and loved cooking for the entire family.
