GUSTOVO LOPEZ

Gustovo “Gus” Lopez, 68, of Littlefield, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2023 in Lubbock. He was born Oct. 17, 1955 in Burlington, Wisconsin to Cristobal and Dominga (Limon) Lopez.

Gus proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, completing a tour in Germany, then continued to serve as a member of the Army Reserves when he returned back to the States. Gus married Maria Juanita “Mary Jane” Perez. He owned and operated Lopez Concrete for several years. Gus was instrumental in getting the concrete work done at Sacred Heart Cemetery, and he also worked as a caretaker there for several years. He took great pride tending to the cemetery and making sure all the graves were marked with identification and cared for. Gus enjoyed listening to music of all genres, dancing, and grilling. He also enjoyed classic cars and spent numerous hours restoring them. He was a Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield with Father Church officiating. Rosary was recited Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
