Guadalupe "Lupe" Moreno Botello, 91, of Anton, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023. She was born October 3, 1932 in Kerrville, Texas to Felipe and Elena (Enriquez) Moreno.

Lupe married Eulojio Munoz Botello on December 15, 1951 in Lubbock, Texas. The couple made their home in Anton, where she was very active in the church, St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Lupe was a devout Catholic, and served as a Guadalupana and also volunteered her time helping where she was needed at the church. She loved being outside, working in her yard, tending to her roses, or picking up pecans from her pecan trees. Lupe and her husband were entrepreneurs, starting a little burrito business that quickly blossomed into a thriving job. She was a wonderful cook, and her burritos, tacos and tamales quickly became famous to those in the area, selling out every day. She loved to go to the casino, play bingo, and was an avid poker player. Lupe was a sports enthusiast, she loved watching all sporting events, especially the Spurs, Cowboys, Chiefs, and Texas Tech. She was witty and kept everyone laughing with her quick responses.

Lupe is survived by a daughter, Anna B. Rodriguez of Anton; two sons, Phillip Botello and wife, Susan of Morgan Hill, CA and Enrique Moreno Botello of Anton; six grandchildren, Jeff Botello, Stehpen Botello, Jaime Rendon, Maria Elena Alonso, Jose Angel Botello and Claudia Rodriguez; fourteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eulojio, on March 3, 2011; and her parents.

Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Anton with Father Ernesto Lopez officiating. Interment followed in Anton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Kory Jay Rendon, Jose Angel Botello, Jeff Botello, Stephen Botello, Adrian Aguirre, Jorge Alonso and lil' Jorge Alonso. Rosary was recited at 6:00 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
