In Loving Memory Of  Gini Coffman

Dec. 4, 1929 ~ Dec. 1, 2025

Gini Coffman, 95, of Littlefield, Texas, entered eternal life on December 1, 2025, in Littlefield, Texas. She was born on December 4, 1929, in Fieldton, Texas, to JJ and Inez Cook.

Growing up, Gini was one of eight children in her household. Gini attended Amherst High School in Amherst, Texas, then transferred to California. In 1947, she graduated from Hemet High School in California. When Gini was 24 years old, she married her forever love, 'Edwin' Marion Coffman. They got married in Sudan, Texas. Edwin and Gini raised two wonderful children together. Amid raising a family, Gini also made time to incorporate building memories between her and Edwin. She loved square dancing with him and received great joy from the smiles it created for them both. Gini was a free-spirited woman and had her own motorcycle that she rode every Sunday. She was known to be a classy woman who was always well dressed and fashion conscious. Needless to say, there was not one thread out of place, or without purpose. Gini loved to design and sew clothes for her family. Over the years, Edwin and Gini put forth hard work and showed excellent character with morals. Furthermore, this led them to being awarded Farm Family of the Year. Upon starting their family, Gini was a homemaker. She fulfilled her duties to her family and provided love to them without hesitation. Holidays would put a warm smile on her face. The Fourth of July was held in highest regard to her because she loved decorating, entertaining, and watching the fireworks that lit up the dark sky around her loved ones. Gini organized the fireworks show in Littlefield for many years, and she took great joy and pride in doing so. Her son and daughter gave her many memories that gave her happiness. They later blessed her and Edwin with several grandchildren to help love. Her grandchildren referred to her as 'Nanny.' Gini loved watching her greatgrandchildren play sports. Cheering them on gave her great joy.

Gini was awarded many accolades throughout her years of life. She was deemed Business Woman of the Year and was given the Athena Award from the Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Gini was a recipient of the Women of Distinction Award from Girl Scouts. Gini was no stranger to working hard. In fact, she worked at Wares Department Store in the early 1950's. She then went on to open her own shop that was named 'Gini's Dress Shop.' It was located in downtown Littlefield and was open from 1981 to 1991. During her years of running her own business, Gini lost her soulmate in May of 1989. She continued maintaining her shop for about two more years after Edwin's passing. In time, Gini went on to become the executive director of the Littlefield Chamber of Commerce for many years. Moreover, Gini also had a strong spiritual life with God and was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of order of the Eastern Star in Littlefield.
