We celebrate the life of Gerry Brent Whiteaker, beloved father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. A memorial service to honor Brent will be held at a future date. Brent passed away after a lengthy illness on July 6, 2021, and has gone to be with his Lord and Savior.

Brent was born July 13, 1954, in Muleshoe, Texas, to Melvin Wayne Whiteaker and Betty Sue Graves Whiteaker. Brent was a talented musician, a gifted orator with a wonderful sense of humor, business man, former pastor, a great chef, and he served in the United States Air Force. After 9/11, and during the war in Iraq, Brent served in security in Kuwait and Iraq.

After returning to the United States, he became a construction supervisor and insurance adjuster, at times, contracting with FEMA to help rebuild after disasters.

Brent is preceded in death by his father, former Judge Wayne Whiteaker; and his grandparents.

To cherish BrentÂ’s memory are his four daughters, Miriam Rochelle, her husband and children; Candance Grace, her husband and children; Chloe Joy, her husband and child; and Celeste Hope; mother, Sue Whiteaker of Lubbock; two sisters, Venita Whiteaker Gross, her children Melissa, Danny, and Matthew; Sherry Whiteaker of Sudan, and her son, Justin; Aunt Fernella and Uncle Randall, cousins, Debra, Paula, and their children; Aunt Betty, cousins Donnie, Michelle and their children; and many friends and relatives from across several states.

BrentÂ’s wish was that be memorials be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida, 32256.
