Florinda Aguirre Tijerina

Florinda Aguirre Tijerina, age 75, of Levelland, passed away on October 21, 2020 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 11 :00 AM, on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at the Littlefield Memorial Park with Father Jonathan Phillips from St. Michaels Catholic Church as Celebrant. The family will conduct a prayer service at 6:00 PM, Monday, at Hammons Funeral Home.

Florinda was born on May 14, 1945 in Torreon, Coahuila to Ruperta and Juanita Aguirre. She moved to the United States at the age of four. Florinda married Jose Angel Tijerina on October 7, 1968 in Dimmitt, Texas.

She was a housewife and also a carpenter. She would flip houses for a hobby, but a mother first to her children. She was a devoted Catholic. She also loved to cook, garden, make crafts and travel.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Angel Tijerina; her children, Cynthis Smith (Leslie) of Levelland, and Isaac Tijerina (Denise) of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, CamrynAngel and Hannah Joy Tijerina; sisters, Lydia Thompson ofLittlefield, Janie Sanchez of Littlefield and Chela Vargas of Littlefield; and brothers, Pete Aguirre and Tony Aguirre.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruperto and Juanita Aguirre; brother, Juan Aguirre; and sister, Concha Vargas.
