Earnest Dell “Ernie” Hoppe, 82, of Lubbock, TX, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, at his home in Lubbock.

Ernie was born in Littlefield to Carl and Willie Dell Hoppe on Oct. 29,1938. He attended school at Littlefield, Wildcat Class of 1957. He married Poni Kay Phillips on Sept. 29, 1967 in Lubbock. He was self-employed and skilled as a carpenter specializing in cabinet-and-trim work for over 60 years. He served in the United States Army during the 1960s. He enjoyed camping and fishing, playing songs on his harmonica and watching Westerns.
Memorials may be given to Habitat for Humanity or the Lewy Body Dementia Association in honor of Ernie’s life.
