DENNIS J. GIVENS

Dennis J. Givens, 73, of Olton, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, in Lubbock, TeX. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, at Olton Cemetery, with Pastor Sammy Espinosa officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Dennis was born Aug.17, 1947, in Amherst, TX, to Delmer and Enid (Wilson) Givens. He graduated from Olton High School in 1965 and went on to play football for Panhandle State and Sul Ross College. Dennis served in the United States Navy as an Admiral’s Aid during the Vietnam War before continuing his education and graduating from West Texas College in 1974. He served on the Olton Junior Livestock Association Board of Directors and announcing the Olton Stock Show for 15 years. He enjoyed Olton Mustang and Fillie’s sports
