Carmel DeLaFuente, 94, of Littlefield, TX, entered eternal life on Nov. 29, 2025, in Levelland, TX. She was born on July 16, 1931, in Fort Sumner, NM, to Ascencíon and Tomasa Perea.
Growing up, Carmel was one of thirteen brothers and sisters. Carmel had three sons and two daughters. She enjoyed cooking for her family and making homemade tortillas which created many family memories. She also enjoyed dancing and listening to Elvis’s music and watching Elvis’s movies. Bonanza was also a favorite TV series. She enjoyed dining out, especially Chinese food, and drinking coffee, but it had to be plain black coffee. Carmel was an enthusiastic storyteller.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons; one daughter in law; two daughters; four grandchildren and their spouses; and ten great-grandchildren.
Carmel was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; six sisters; and a son.
Funeral services for Carmel DeLaFuente was held Friday afternoon, December 5, 2025, at Grace Chapel within Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. Interment followed in Littlefield Memorial Park.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
