Beverly June Smith, 93 of Littlefield, Texas passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born February 12, 1931 in San Francisco, California.
June moved to Whiteface, Texas with her father, Marvin Grant, at a young age and attended school in Whiteface. She then moved to Littlefield, where she married Delbert Glen Jackson in 1951. The couple had three children, Delbert, Terry and Sheila who all attended Littlefield Schools. He passed away in 1958. In 1978, June married Robert Ray Smith, and the two were married until his passing in 1991. She worked for GTE for 34 years before retiring in 1991. She volunteered her time with her daughter, Sheila, for many years, delivering Meals on Wheels and was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary Ladies for over 24 years. June loved spending time with her grandkids and attended as many ball games as she could. She loved to play games and win. She loved to eat and always enjoyed the sweets. Her greatest blessing were her three kids, and without a doubt June's faith in the Lord was unconditional. June was a dedicated member of Parkview Baptist Church.
June was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Grant; brother, Sidney Grant; sister, Joyce Norvell; daughter, Sheila Doty; grandson, Curtis Jackson; great granddaughter, Cortlynn Doty; stepson, Gary Smith; and step son-in-law, Jim Black.
She is survived by her two sons, Delbert Don Jackson and wife, Roxanne of Brownwood, TX and Terry Jackson and wife, Jackie of Levelland; son-in-law, David Doty of Littlefield; step-daughter, Donna Black of Littlefield; step-son Robert 'Bob' Smith and wife, Vicki of Pueblo West, CO; and daughter-in-law, Charlsie Smith of Spade, TX. June also had seven grandkids, fifteen great grandkids, ten great-great grandkids, and was also a grandmother to all of Ray's nine grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Parkview Baptist Church in Littlefield. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Parkview Baptist Church Littlefield, in her honor. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
