Betty Kidd, 84, of Amherst, TX passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2025. She was born July 29, 1941, in Tulia, TX to Wilcey Wayne Barclay and Cleo (Gibson) Barclay.
Betty married Coy Kidd on Sept. 23, 1961 in Kermit, TX. The couple settled in Amherst, and raised their family. Betty worked for Amherst ISD as their secretary for over 22 years. She enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. Betty and Coy enjoyed country music and traveled many miles together to see various artists perform. She enjoyed gambling and was an avid Texas Tech Red Raider fan.
Betty is survived by two children and their spouses; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two sisters; and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.
Services were held Wednesday morning, Nov. 12, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Amherst. Interment followed in Fairlawn Cemetery in Amherst.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
