Sanders remains in front in Bowl Blowout Contest

NCAA Bowl Season is winding down with just two games left, our third Bowl Blowout Update includes game scores from Dec. 28 th to Jan. 3 rd .

Several Bowl games were canceled including the Holiday Bowl, Fenway Bowl, Arizona Bowl and the Tony the Tiger Bowl.

On Dec. 28 th , Minnesota took down West Virginia in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl, 18-6, while Texas Tech routed Mississippi State, 34-7, in the Liberty Bowl, and Air Force edged out Louisville, 31-28, in the First Responder Bowl. Houston got the best of Auburn, 17-13, in the Birmingham Bowl.

On Dec. 29 th , Maryland blasted Virginia Tech, 54-10, in the Pinstripe Bowl, while Clemson took down Iowa State, 20-13, in the Cheez-It Bowl and Oklahoma held off a late surge from Oregon, 47-32, in the Alamo Bowl.

On Dec. 30 th , South Carolina snuck by North Carolina, 38-21, in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, while Purdue won an OT thriller over Tennessee, 48-45, in the Music City Bowl. In the Las Vegas Bowl, Wisconsin took down Arizona State, 20-13, while Michigan State took down Pittsburgh, 31-21, in the Peach Bowl.

On Dec. 31 st , Wake Forest downed Texas A&M, 38-10, in the Tax Slayer Bowl, while Alabama won the Cotton Bowl over Cincinnati, 27-6, and Georgia took down Michigan, 34-11, in the Orange Bowl.

Jan. 1 st , Arkansas bested Penn State in the Outback Bowl, 24-10, while Kentucky took down Iowa, 20-17, in the Citrus Bowl, and Oklahoma State rallied past Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl, 37-35. Ohio State survived a scare from Utah with a win over Utah, 48-45, and Baylor took down Ole Miss, 21-7, in the Sugar Bowl.

We had 12 contestants this year in our Bowl Blowout Challenge and the results after the first round of games are as follows:

Danny Sanders leads the pack with 40 points, while Ed Dabrowski sits in second place with 35 points, and Stevy Smith is in third place with 34 points.

Lonnie Neinast, Mark Grace, Tommy Cloninger, Juan Hernandez, Teresa Dabrowski and Floyce Pierce are tied for fourth with 32 points, while Tim Walker is in fifth with 30 points, John Hernandez is in sixth with 28 points, and Larry Ashley is in seventh with 26 points.
