Gayle S. Allcorn

Gayle S. Allcorn, 85, of Olton, died Friday, October 22, 2021, in Olton. Funeral services were be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Rev. Donnie Brown and Brother David Azam officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Gayle was born April 8, 1936, in Plainview, Texas, to C.S. “Shorty” and Lily May (Anderson) Silcott. She married the love of her life, R.V. Allcorn, on August 12, 1955, in Olton, and they were married over 66 years. A teacher for over 35 years at Olton ISD, Gayle was a positive influence and amazing role model for many children throughout the years. An active member of the First Baptist Church, Gayle loved people and she loved the Lord. She was very giving, kind, and she often sent thoughtful cards to people whether she had a reason to or not. Gayle loved to read and work outdoors in the yard and garden. An active volunteer at H.P. Webb Elementary and at the Runningwater Draw Care Center in Olton, Gayle was known as “Mama Gayle” to most around town. Her faith and love had an impact on many people and she was a blessing to all who knew her.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Lauren Caraway, in 2000.

Survivors include her husband, R.V. Allcorn of Olton; two sons, Bryan Allcorn and his wife, Leanne of Littlefield and Brad Allcorn and his wife, Julie of Amarillo; her daughter, Brynea Day and her husband, Buck of Olton; and her sister, Doniece Allen of Mustang, OK. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Secily Kenyon and her husband, Gabe, Jon Bryan Allcorn and his wife, Mandi, Talen Caraway and his wife, Jessie, Allison Allcorn, Farren Nilsson and her husband, Kyler, and Bradley Allcorn; and six great-grandchildren, Kash, Thayer, Aliza, Noah, Jackson, and Nila.
