Dwayne married his high school sweetheart, Mary Beckett, on June 4, 1960, at the First Baptist Church in Sudan, where they remained active members. He was a farmer and worked for the City of Sudan, driving the trash truck for 25 years before retiring. His last occupation was .dishwasher. for his wife Mary, as she cooked many wonderful meals for her family and community. The couple made a great team and were well known and loved in the area. Dwayne proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Those who knew Dwayne would say he was a jokester, and a tad bit onery, but he loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed playing dominoes and was active in the Men.s Baptist Brotherhood. Above all else, he loved his wife and his family, and proudly raised four daughters, even though he was often outnumbered as the only man in the house. He adored his grandchildren, and they adored him, their .Papa. or .Papa Duck., because of his impressive ability to imitate Donald Duck. He was a selfless man, always putting others before himself, and he loved his community and his neighbors.
