Mary Magdalene Moore Jones passed away peacefully with her husband, son, and niece Belinda, by her side on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021.
Mary, who was commonly known as “Mother” was born on July 27, 1953 in Austin, TX to Elder Louis and Flirdia Fletcher Moore. At an early age Mary confessed hope in Christ and was baptized by Rev. Joel Mann in Hereford, TX.
Mary spent her childhood in Amherst, Lamb County, TX and received her education. Shortly after graduating from Amherst High School, she relocated to Houston, TX.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Harry Lee Jones III; son, Harry Lee Jones IV (Lee J); daughter, Samantha Cleopatra Jones; one sister, Ethel Moore Sanders (James); one brother, Stanley Louis Moore (Minnie); sisters-in-law, Genese Moore and Mable Moore. She will be in the hearts of her grandchildren, Raevyn Brielle, Daijah Bell, Lee Charles, SirKendi Warzell, Marysela Mandy, and Samani Li’Shae; and her best friends, Ruby Ryans and Pamela Riddle. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 6to 8 p.m. at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Peace Deliverance Church, 801 Littlefield Drive in Littlefield, TX.
