Gerald Wayne Reid, 74, of Denison, formerly of Lubbock, loving husband of Andrea, passed away on Aug. 8, 2021, after a lengthy illness.
Gerald was born July 5, 1947 in Littlefield, to Vernon and Ruby Reid of Bula.
In 1965, he graduated from Bula High School, and received a degree from the University of Texas in Dallas.
In 1970, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served on the USS Ozboorn DD-846 during the Vietnam War.
Gerald met the love of his life, Andrea Lee Mikovitz in 1983 and they married on Oct. 13, 1995 in Lubbock.
He had a passion for fishing, football, horse racing and reading.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon, and mother, Ruby Reid.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea; a sister, Jolene Sweeny and husband, Mike of Levelland; a niece, Melissa Knollkamper and husband, Greg; great-nephew, Alexander of Fort Worth; a niece, Deborah Garner and husband, John; great-nephew, Dylan Oddy of Dallas; Niece, Theresa Butkovich of Gross Pointe Park, MI.
Graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 at Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery, 1700 Delano Ave. in Littlefield, TX.
