Mary Ellen (Sharp) Cowan went home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2020. She was born on September 5, 1942, in Idabel, OK to Hardy and Mattie Sharp. She was the youngest of seven children.
At an early age she and her family moved to Sundown and later to Levelland where she meet the love of her life, Loyd Cowan. They were married on December 15, 1957. Mary and Loyd owned and operated Cowan Plumbing Company which operated in Littlefield and Levelland for 30 years. They also owned and operated Executive Mobile Home Village in Lubbock for the past 30 years.
Mary is survived by her husband, Loyd; son, Toney and wife, Sandra of Levelland; daughters, Janice Gage and Mike Knotts of Lubbock, Betty Perkins and Jim Stewart of Lubbock, and Gayla Kinney of Mount Pleasant, NC; 10 grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
A Celebration of Life Service was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in Resthaven’s Abby Chapel. Interment followed at Resthaven Memorial Park.
