Church service for Linda Bearden, age 87, of Lubbock, Texas, is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Amherst, Texas with Guyle Roberson officiating. Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park. Linda died Tuesday, December 9, 2025 in Lubbock. She was born on August 8, 1938 in Amherst, Texas to William Arles and Bula Bee (Thompson) Humphreys. She married Barry Bearden in Amherst on March 17, 1956.
Linda moved to Lubbock from Dublin, Texas in 2015. Before moving to Dublin, she had lived in Amherst all of her life, and farmed with her husband for 52 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amherst. She loved watching all of her grandkids and great-grandkids play sports.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Barry; her parents; a brother, Norman Humphreys; and sister, Arlene Humphreys; and a great-grandchild, Austin Lewis.
Survivors include her two sons, Ronnie Bearden and his wife, Juliet of Las Vegas, Nevada and Steven Bearden of Lubbock, Texas; one daughter, Tonya Bourland of Liberty Hill, Texas; a brother, John Humphreys and his wife, Gloria of Brownwood, Texas; ten grandchildren, Jerimi Bourland, Heather Archer, Josh Bourland, Jason Bearden, Jessica Cole, Jori Celestial, Jennifer Lewis, Kyndra Bearden, Kayla Stojek and Dalyn Bearden; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to First Baptist Church, 806 Adams Avenue, Amherst, Texas, 79312.
