Shawn Wade Departs PCG After 34 Years of Service

Shawn Wade, who serves as PCG’s Director of Policy Analysis & Research, is leaving the Plains Cotton Growers organization after more than 34 years of service to take on a new role at Texas Tech University within the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. His last official day with PCG is May 14.

Wade will assume his new position as Assistant Director of the Fiber & Biopolymer Research Institute (FBRI) and the International Center for Agricultural Competitiveness (ICAC) at Texas Tech on May 15.

In his new position Wade will work closely with FBRI Director Dr. Noureddine Abidi and ICAC Director Dr. Darren Hudson to support the research, outreach and educational missions of the two centers.

“The decision to leave PCG to take on this exciting new role at Texas Tech was not an easy one to make,” said Wade. “I am grateful to PCG for the opportunity to support the cotton producers and allied industry partners that make up the High Plains cotton family for the past 34 years.”

Plains Cotton Growers is excited for Shawn, and we look forward to the impact he will have as he continues to serve the High Plains agriculture industry and Texas Tech University.
