Private Pesticide Applicators Training Set in Levelland on Aug. 17

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer the required private Pesticide Applicators Training ( PAT) in Levelland on Thursday, August 17. This training is required by the Texas Department of Agriculture before taking the exam to obtain the license. A private pesticide applicator is a person who uses or supervises the use of a restricted-use or state limited- use pesticide or a regulated herbicide for the purpose of producing an agricultural commodity. This license is not for those receiving monetary compensation for a pesticide application.

Governor Abbott announces $87.7 Million in Housing Tax Credits

Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) has awarded $87.7 million in housing tax credits to help finance the development or rehabilitation of 54 rental properties offering reduced rents and increased housing options for Texans throughout the state. Provided through the TDHCA Housing Tax Credit Program (HTC), these awards will help developers construct or rehabilitate more than 3,100 housing units and offer affordable rent to households earning up to 80% of the median family income in their respective areas.

Texas Dominates Nation in Annual Job Creation

Governor Greg Abbott celebrated the dominance of the state’s jobs economy following the release of June employment data showing that Texas again leads the nation for jobs added over the last 12 months. Texas also smashed all previous records for total jobs, now for 21 months in a row, and again set new records for total Texans employed and total Texas labor force.
