USDA Announces Completion of Sterile Fly Dispersal Facility in Texas

– Today at Moore Air Base, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins and Governor of Texas Greg Abbott celebrated a significant achievement in the fight against New World Screwworm ( NWS) with the completion of a U.S.-based sterile fly dispersal facility in Edinburg, Texas.

Texas beef herd signals higher prices ahead for producers and consumers

Hale County Death Investigation

On Saturday, February 7, 2026, at approximately 3:40 a. m., the Hale County Sheriff’s Office called the Texas Rangers to assist with a death investigation, which was a result of a shooting event, in the 2700 block of Upchurch, in the Seth Ward neighborhood.
