Two local contested races have candidates on the ballot for the March 1, 2022 Republican Party Primary elections for Lamb County offices. Numerous other candidates are seeking national and state representative positions on that ballot also.

WILDCAT CLASSIC RUNNER-UPS – The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team finished the Wildcat Classic a Runner-ups, falling to Portales in the Championship game on Wednesday night, 48-39. The Lady Cats finished 2-1 in tournament play, beating Olton in the opener and Tulia in the second round. Senate Falls Short On Biden Administration’s Build Back Better Act

Congress is now officially adjourned for the remainder of 2021, with the Senate vacating Washington, DC after a series of scheduled votes on December 18. Despite an aggressive attempt by President Joe Biden and House and Senate Democratic Leadership, the President’s signature domestic policy bill - the Build Back Better Act (BBB) - failed to gain the support of all 50 Senate Democrats needed to pass the legislation through budget reconciliation before the end of the year.
