Sunset Valley hosts Easter Celebration

After transitioning to new leadership and rebranding as the Sunset Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on February 1 of this year, the facility hosted its first Easter celebration on April 3, 2026. This celebration is one that the team aspires to continue as an annual tradition.

Cotton producers face hard choices

Nearly 400 Texas cotton producers and professionals gathered for the Plains Cotton Growers’ annual meeting this week with concerns about the upcoming planting season.Texas is the top producer of cotton in the United States, and the High Plains region accounts for twothirds of production.

Olton Band receives Superior Rating at UIL Competition

Ending their competition season on a high note, the Olton High School Band received a Division 1 rating in concert performance and sightreading.Division 1 is the highest rating possible in UIL competitions, representing a ‘Superior’ performance on the ranking scale.

Xcel Energy to pass on fuel savings to customers

Xcel Energy’s (NASDAQ: XEL) subsidiary, Southwestern Public Service Company, has filed an update with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) that would lower the fuel portion of electric bills for Texas customers.

Since 2006, Cotton Incorporated’s Blue Jeans Go Green program has collected denim (made from cotton) so it can be recycled back to its original fiber state and transformed into something new.

New Littlefield band director inspires student successes, community values

After the retirement of Bonnie Anderson and Gina Muela, the Littlefield Marchin’ Cats needed a new band director; however, Anderson’s successor would step into a position she previously led for more than 32 years.
