Lineman Appreciation Day rolls around every April and can be traced back to 2013. Prior to that, there was no official day to recognize our linemen for the job they do day in and day out. A lot of our members probably wouldn’t recognize our office staff if they saw them out and about, but they sure do remember our linemen.

HPWD releases results of annaul water level survey

Last Friday, the High Plains Water District released the results of its annual water level survey that showed an overall decline across the district. An average decline of -0.63 feet was calculated in the groundwater levels of the Ogallala/Edwards-Trinity (High Plains) Aquifer (ETHP) from 2021 to 2022.

The National Sorghum Producers will begin accepting applications on April 4 for five positions on the 2022 board of directors. “We are in need of strong producer leadership to help move forward the sorghum industry and legislative and regulatory policies that are important to sorghum farmers,” NSP CEO Tim Lust said.

Palm Sunday is wrapped in traditions. We celebrate Jesus’ ride into Jerusalem. Holy Week begins. When I lived in the Rio Grande Valley we tied fresh cut Date Palm branches to the pews. They’d tower over a person who walked into the sanctuary.
