Vexus Fiber Awards $45,000 in Tuition Scholarships to Rural High School Graduates

Vexus Fiber, (“Vexus”) a leading provider of fiber-based residential and business internet and telecommunications solutions, held an awards ceremony for the 2021 Vexus Scholarship Award Recipients at the company’s Lubbock Office at 4006 W Loop 289, on Thursday, June 9, 2022. The fifteen scholarship winners will each be receiving a $3,000 tuition scholarship as part of the Vexus Scholarship Program.

After the massive mail slowdowns and postage hikes of 2021, Congress took action to financially stabilize the U.S. Postal Service by passing a historic, bipartisan postal reform bill. The bill freed the Postal Service from an unreasonable 2006 law demanding that it pre-fund retiree health benefits 75 years in advance—a requirement that put billions of dollars on the Postal Service’s balance sheet each year and motivated it to keep hiking postage rates while reducing services.

Comptroller Glenn Hegar Releases Texas Broadband Plan

(AUSTIN) — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar has released his agency’s Texas Broadband Plan to support the expansion of broadband access for underserved and unserved Texans. The Comptroller’s Broadband Development Office (BDO) crafted the plan building upon the feedback that Hegar and BDO staff collected from Texans through 12 public town halls, 60 virtual regional roundtable discussions and more than 16,000 survey responses.
