The Lamb County Soil and Water Conservation District announced the 2022 Texas Conservation Awards Program winners. The program was divided into two categories.

Vexus Fiber, (“Vexus”) a leading provider of fiber-based residential and business internet and telecommunications solutions, held an awards ceremony for the 2021 Vexus Scholarship Award Recipients at the company’s Lubbock Office at 4006 W Loop 289, on Thursday, June 9, 2022. The fifteen scholarship winners will each be receiving a $3,000 tuition scholarship as part of the Vexus Scholarship Program.

The 2022 Annual Community Vacation Bible School has been moved back this year. It will start on Monday, July 11 th through Friday, July 15 th .

A meeting of the Lamb County Commissioners’ Court will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, in the Lamb County Courthouse, where a 10 – item agenda will be considered for appropriate action.

The Littlefield Planning and Zoning Commission will convene on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 6 p.m. in the City of Littlefield’s City Council Chambers, located at 525 Phelps Avenue, to consider matters and related incidents to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

After the massive mail slowdowns and postage hikes of 2021, Congress took action to financially stabilize the U.S. Postal Service by passing a historic, bipartisan postal reform bill. The bill freed the Postal Service from an unreasonable 2006 law demanding that it pre-fund retiree health benefits 75 years in advance—a requirement that put billions of dollars on the Postal Service’s balance sheet each year and motivated it to keep hiking postage rates while reducing services.

(AUSTIN) — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar has released his agency’s Texas Broadband Plan to support the expansion of broadband access for underserved and unserved Texans. The Comptroller’s Broadband Development Office (BDO) crafted the plan building upon the feedback that Hegar and BDO staff collected from Texans through 12 public town halls, 60 virtual regional roundtable discussions and more than 16,000 survey responses.
