17 indicted during Grand Jury on Jan. 18

The Lamb County Grand Jury met for the January Term A.D. 2023 of the Lamb County 154th Judicial District Court on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, when they indicted a total of 17 defendants; three defendants were indicted on two seperate charges and two defendants were indicted on three seperate charges.

County Conservation Partners host Annual Local Work Group meeting on Feb. 6th

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Lamb County Soil and Water Conservation Districts are seeking input from the public on how to best serve local citizens through Farm Bill conservation programs and technical assistance. The public is invited to attend their Fiscal Year 2023 Local Working Group (LWG) meeting February 6, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Lamb County Electric Co-op Inc building with refreshments being served.

33 Jurors Fined for failing to report for Jury Duty

On Tuesday, January 31, District Judge Scott Say issued prospective fines to 33 people who failed to report for jury duty on January 18th as potential Grand Jurors. Potential jurors who failed to claim exemptions by mail, those who did not call ahead of time with legitimate excuses for non-attendance and those who simply ignored their jury summons will be notified by mail in the coming days that they can either voluntarily pay the fine assessed in the District Clerk’s Office or personally appear in District Court to show cause why they should not be fined.

Roland Smith to retire from Texas Farm Bureau Insurance

Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Company agent, Roland Smith will be honored at a come-and-go reception from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the county office at 615 XIT Drive in Littlefield, Texas on Thursday, February 9, 2023. Smith will officially retire from Texas Farm Bureau Insurance on February 28, 2023, after 43 ½ years of service.
