The governing body of the City of Littlefield, Texas met at 6 p.m. on April 25th at the City Council Chambers, 525 Phelps Avenue, for the purpose of considering all matters and related incidents to the City of Littlefield.

State Sales Tax Revenue Totaled $3.6 Billion in March

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.57 billion in March, 5.9 percent more than in March 2022. The majority of March sales tax revenue is based on sales made in February and remitted to the agency in March.

Crop Scan Ag Report: Still Early, but Planters Starting to Roll

Cotton planters are in the fields in parts of South Georgia, the lower Mid-South, and south and central Texas. It’s too wet and too cold in parts of the Cotton Belt right now (although South Georgia and West Texas need rain), so growers aren’t rushing to get in the fields. However, our contributing cotton consultants say it’s just a matter of timing now.

TPWD seeks public input for the 2024 Land and Water Plan

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is seeking public input to help inform future management directions of the agency. TPWD’s mission is to manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. Public input can be made through Friday, April 14, by completing a Texas A&M University online survey.

A Prayer For Rainfall

This prayer was written in the 1950s during an awful drought in Texas. The prayer was written by Father W. Schneider of St. Mary’s in Fredericks-burg who also ministered at St. Francis Church in Stonewall. It has gone all over the world.

Arrest made in murder of D’Kota Tiller

Because of a determined and thorough investigation and with the assistance of the Texas Rangers and the Lamb County District Attorney’s Office an arrest has been made in the murder of D’kota Tiller that occurred on Jan. 9, 2023.
