Creative Sprouts at the Library on Weds.

Happy July everyone!This past June we survived another year of summer reading. We had a total of 121 kids registered. We had a fun, colorful time doing science experiments, music and movements, painting, magic, poetry, DIY comics, and other fun crafts, games and activities.

Anton to Celebrate Centennial July 25, 26; First Baptist Church to Celebrate 100th Anniversary

Anton will celebrate its centennial celebration from July 25 through 26, with various activities occurring around town.Times are tentative, and potential additional events may be added.Festivities begin on Friday, July 25, at 6 p.m.

West Plains IPM Update, Current Situation

Who would have imagined that we would be going into July with a full profile of soil moisture in most locations. I have used my 6’ soil probe quite a bit this week while out attempting to scout fields. I can probe at a minimum 50” at all locations and 72” at half of them.

Wheat harvest wraps up with mixed yields

Across Texas, wheat harvest results depended very much on the weather. Drought led to early termination of dryland fields, and muddy conditions are delaying ongoing harvests to the detriment of grain quality. However, across the state, it was an average year for Texas wheat.

Growth of College Rodeo Leads to Reorganization

CASPER, Wyo. (June 21, 2025) — For the past four years, membership numbers in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) have seen steady growth.The NIRA started as a nonprofit organization in 1949 and defined three geographical regions to govern a student-led board.
