Sudan City Council to meet Thursday

A regular meeting of the governing board of the City of Sudan will be held Thursday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. in the Sudan Community Center located at 107 East First Avenue, in Sudan, where they will be considering 18 agenda items.

After the invocation, the Pledge ofAllegiance will be recited.

3. Minutes ofprior meetings will be considered for approval.

4. Public input and comments will be received.

5. The 12 Departmental Reports will be received and reviewed for approval.

Old Business:

6. Review of the Declaration of Disaster Issued by the Mayor on April 3,2020, Renewed and Continued by the city Council on April 9, 2020, May 14, 2020, June 11, 2020, July 9, 2020 August 14, 2020, September 10, 2020, October 8, 2020, November 12, 2020, December 10, 2020 and January 14, 2021, and Consider Continuation, Modifications, or Cancellation.

New Business:

7. Annual Audit Report by Webb, Webb, and Wright, Certified Public Accountants.

8. Consider proposal from Derek Wood and David Wood Regarding Residential Development, Partial Closure of Nelson Street, and Paving ofMinyard Street Extension.

9. Consider Proposal from Sudan ISD and Sudan Baseball Assoc. to Partially Close Barron Street from Avenue K to Avenue L, Leaving a Utility Easement in place.

10. Review of the Police Department’s Annual Racial Profiling Report.

11. Consider Application from Southwestern Public Service for Authority to implement a Net Surcharge Authorized by Settlement of 2019 Rate Case.

12. Consider a Resolution Approving an Election Agreement to Hold a Joint Election with Sudan Independent School District on May 1, 2021, and Authorization to Execute Documents Required.

13. Consider New Conservation Reserve Program Contracts on the City’s two Irrigated Farms.

14. Consider Action Relating to Expiring Franchise Agreement with West Plains Telecommunications.

15. Consider Terms of Lease Agreement for City’s Farmhouse.

16. Sudan Economic Development Corp., Inc. Activities:

• Appointment of Board Members;

• Appointment of Officers; and

The City Council reserves the right to retire into Executive Session concerning any of the items listed on this Agenda, whenever it is considered necessary and legally justified under the Texas Open Meetings Act, Government Code Chapter 551. Any item discussed in executive session may be subject to action during the open meeting.
