North Lamb County receives rain Monday

The late Monday afternoon clouds that came over Lamb County, didn’t leave much rainfall south of the sandhills.

The heavy, dark clouds were being blown by strong winds that filled the skies with sand. Further to the north, some of the sand had been washed out of the skies, by the rain.

Lamb County communities that reported measurable rainfall were the City of Earth that got some rain for about 10 minutes, but it was not measured in a rain gauge; the Springlake-Earth Gin that caught .10 of an inch in a gauge; and the City of Olton that recorded the .15 of an inch that was in its gauge.

Most of the other communities in Lamb County, including Littlefield, Amherst, Sudan, Fieldton and Spade, received strong winds, and brief periods of misting that left mud spots on vehicles, etc.

We’re thankful for the rain the county received, and everyone is praying for more, to eliminate the area’s drouth conditions.
