LCEC names Blake Moore GM, CEO

Lamb County Electric Cooperative, Inc., has announced that Blake Moore will become its new general manager and chief executive officer.

The announcement was made by Marvin Matthews, president of the cooperative’s board of directors. Moore will replace Boyd McCamish who recently announced his retirement effective the end of July this year. McCamish has been employed by LCEC for 47 years, the last nine year as its GM/CEO.

“Blake was recently selected by the board of directors from a number of very highly qualified candidates, and will start his duties heading up the company to coincide with Boyd’s retirement,” said Matthews. “We are excited to have Blake joining LCEC, and look forward to his leadership of the cooperative.

Moore is a life-long resident of West Texas, and currently is employed by Lyntegar Electric Cooperative headquartered in Tahoka, where he served the past eight years as a staff executive in the area of member (customer) services. Moore is a native of the Welch community in Dawson County and a graduate of Lamesa High School.

Moore graduated from Texas Tech University, majoring in Agribusiness. He served as a congressional intern in the Washington, D.C. offices of former Texas Congressman Charles Stenholm; and then on the Austin staff for then State Senator Robert Duncan, followed by five years as director for State Rep. Larry Phillips of Sherman, Texas, before returning to the Tahoka area.

Moore has been active in civic affairs, serving as president of the Dawson School Board, president of the Tahoka Chamber of Commerce, President of the Tahoka Rotary Club, and currently serves on the board of directors of the Texas Agriculture Cooperative Council.

Moore and his wife, Laura are the parents of two sons and a daughter.
