Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Lamb County is proud to announce the establishment of a new Child Passenger Safety Fitting Station to serve families throughout the county and surrounding communities.
The fitting station will provide education and handson assistance to caregivers on the proper installation and use of child safety seats, booster seats, and seat belts. Families can receive guidance on selecting the correct car seat for their child, ensuring proper fit, and learning best practices to help keep children safe while traveling.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, correctly used child safety seats can significantly reduce the risk of injury and death in a crash. Having access to local fitting stations gives families a trusted resource for injury prevention and education close to home.
“Having local car seat fitting stations is an important part of protecting children and preventing injuries in our communities,” said Kathy Lostroh, Family and Community Health Agent for Lamb County. “Parents and caregivers often have questions about installation, harness fit, or when it’s time to transition to the next seat. A fitting station provides families with access to trained professionals who can help make sure children are riding as safely as possible every trip, every time.”
The Lamb County fitting station is located at: 100 6th Drive, Room B- 5 in Littlefield.
