Ed Dabrowski wins BBC, Hannah Conkin places 2nd

The Lamb County Leader-News’ Big Bracket Challenge came to an end this past weekend with the Final Four and National Championship Game.

After points were tallied, Ed Dabrowski came away with 143 points to claim first place in this year’s challenge, edging out Hannah Conkin, who placed second with 141 points.

On Saturday, April 6th, in the Final Four, Purdue held off North Carolina State, 63-50, while UConn took down Alabama, 86-72.

On Monday, April 8th, UConn capped off their great 2024 season with a, 75-60, victory over the Purdue Boilermakers to claim the 2024 Men’s Basketball National Title.

The rest of the field’s results are as follows: Larry Ashley finished with 140 points, while Oscar Sanchez tallied 139 points and JC Orozco and Richard Orozco finished tied with 138 points each. Shaun Lewallen finished with 128 points, while Patricia Lopez and Robin Neinast each totaled 123 points and Joe Lopez and Teresa Dabrowski each totaled 118 points.

Janet Conkin and Ben Diaz finished tied with 115 points, while Stacy Guy tallied 109 points and Dwight Lewallen finished with 108 points. Johnny Rosemond tallied 106 points, while Richard Carter finished with 103 points, Brett Neinast and Lonnie Neinast each finished with 100 points, and Tammy McDaniel finished with 94 points.

Derek Lopez and Jennifer Wilson- Conkin each finished with 87 points, while Kristina Robinson totaled 85 points, Brender Carter totaled 78 points and Mark Grace finished with 77 points. Brooke Boeckmed finished with 74 points, while Brian Conkin tallied 71 points, and Martin Duran finsihed with 67 points.

Lauren Petty tallied 65 points, while Kara Silvas and Sheryl Lewallen each finished with 63 points, Ben Eastepp finished with 56 points and Elisardo Cueto totaled 46 points. Zeb Petty rounded out the field with 45 points.
