Crescent Park Church of Christ to host Author Gayla Wood for Ladies Day Event

The ladies of Crescent Park Church of Christ, located at 99 Crescent Dr. in Littlefield, Texas invite women in the area to “Roll up their sleeves” and join them for a ‘Spring Cleaning of the Soul’ on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The keynote speaker will be the celebrated educator and author Gayla Wood of Mansfield, Texas. Gayla will share her insight on clearing away the dusty cobwebs that often obscure our true and joyful spirituality.

The ladies of Crescent Park will serve coffee at 9 a.m. followed by a presentation by Gayla Wood. Lunch will be provided at noon. The event will close at 1 p.m.

The Lamb County Library will later host a book signing event featuring Gayla Wood at the Lamb County Library on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. so the residents of Lamb County may purchase Spring Cleaning for the Soul for $5.00, and have their copy autographed by Gayla Wood.

Mrs. Wood has over 30 plus years of teaching and public speaking to her credit. Her expertise has guided many students and educators over the years. One might describe her as an educator of educators. Among her extensive list of recognition as an educator; in 2007, she was named “Educator of Distinction” among the National Society of High School Scholars. (N.H.H.S. was founded by Claus Nobel, a member of the family known worldwide for The Nobel Prize.)

Gayla has been a public speaker since she was an eighteen-year old making announcements every fifteen minutes at Six Flags Over Texas. Throughout her career she has served as either a Master of Ceremonies or Keynote Speaker for events including:

• Commencement Keynote Speaker Bowie High School (televised event with 5000 people in attendance),

• Induction Ceremony Keynote speaker of various high school organizations • Vineyard Sisters Faith Conferences (Keynote Speaker 3 times)

• Master of Ceremonies of Holocaust Survivor event featuring Mike Jacobs, Holocaust survivor & founder of Dallas Holocaust Museum

• Master of Ceremonies of event featuring Susan Jeske, former Ms. America and current President of the Ms. America Pageant

• Phi Theta Kappa induction ceremony Keynote speaker (Worlds’ Largest Honor Society in 2-year colleges) Her Spiritual service is paramount in her life. She serves in many capacities including:

• Speaking at various Christian Women’s Events in multiple states

• Teaching Ladies Bible Classes

• Mentoring Female AIM Students housed in Arlington, TX

• Sharing through ongoing Christian Book studies with AIM Students (Lead by Mike Bingham, Woodland West C.O.C. in Arlington, TX)

She and Mark are extensively traveled. They share an obsession for everything ocean and especially lighthouses.
