County’s Republican incumbents win elections

There were at least 1,356 Republican voters from all over Lamb County who voted at the March 1, 2022 Republican Party Primary

Election.

Incumbents getting jobs back Both of the two incumbent candidates in the locally-contested races for Lamb County offices, won their races.

Lamb County Clerk Tonya Roberson-Ritchie received 1,123 votes, to keep her job for another term, while her opponent, Kaye

King, received 297 votes.

Lamb County District Clerk Debbie Long will also be serving another term, since she received 1,163 votes, to defeat her opponent, Emily Castillo, who received 265 votes.

Governor Greg Abbott ran away from seven other candidates in the Governor’s race, when he received 1,045 votes; and Jodey C. Arrington was uncontested for District 19 U.S. Representative, and received 1,322 votes.

Dan Patrick received 1,153 votes to outrun five other candidates for Lieutenant Governor.

In the Attorney General’s race, Ken Paxton received 877 votes, to run away from three other candidates.

Glenn Hegar, the current Comptroller of Public Accounts, received 1,091 votes, to keep his seat; and defeat his opponent, Mark V. Goloby, who received only 132 votes.

Ken King, State Representative for District 88, received 1,043 votes; while his opponent, Ted Hutto got 355 votes.

All other local candidates were uncontested: Scott Say, District Judge of 154th Judicial District; Mike DeLoach, Lamb County Judge; Tammy Kirkand, County Tax Assessor-Collector; Jerry Yarbrough, County Treasurer; Kent Lewis, Commissioner Precinct 2; Lee Logan, Commissioner Precinct 4; Becky DeBerry, Justice of Peace Precinct 1; Brad Bridges, Justice of Peace Precinct 2; and Matt Hanna, Justice of Peace Precinct 4.
