County’s gins still working

The five Lamb County Gins are still working to get the 2021 cotton crop ginned, and as of Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, have reported a total of 234,630 bales ginned, with many more to get done.

The Olton Gin, affiliated with Spyland Grain Coop, reports 89,161 bales ginned, which also includes the bales ginned at Plainview. Those turned out at Olton are not separated from the Plainview ginning total.

The two gins in the Texas Producers Coop, (Amherst and Sudan,) trogether have ginned 93,570 bales, according to Gin Manager, Guyle Roberson, who advised they still have 5,000 bales to do before being done.

The Springlake-Earth Cotton Growrs Gin at Springlake finished its ginning on Dec. 16, 2021, when it had ginned a total of 10,529 bales.

The Spade Coop Gin still has 275 modules on its yard, and so far has ginned a total of 41,370 bales.
