Lamb County Commissioners held a regular business meeting Monday morning, Nov. 30, when they took care of the consent agenda items and approved the donation of surplus material from TxDOT.

Lamb County Judge James Mike DeLoach called the meeting to order, then led the invocation and pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags.

There was no one who wanted to make a public comment about any of the agenda items.

The six agenda items were next considered for approval.

Minutes from the regular Nov. 9 and special Nov. 17 meeting when the Nov. 3 election results were canvassed, were approved with the other agenda items.

There were no budget and salary amendments, and/or line-item transfers to be considered.

Bills presented by the County Auditor included: $157,166.94 for Lamb County, and $575,209.85 for Lamb Healthcare Center, for a total of $732,376.84 in bills to be paid.

A request for the payment of payrolls by County Treasurer Jerry Yarbrough, including: $142,449.73 for Lamb County, and $184,253.26 for Lamb Healthcare Center.

The departmental reports that were presented were comsidered for approval.

Bids on Trust lots in Littlefield that were approved with the other consent agenda items included: a bid of $1,501 from Bryant Investment Properties of West Texas, for 605 E. 4th Street.

Commissioners approved the donation of surplus material from TxDOT.

While discussing future agenda items, Lamb County Treasurer Jerry Yarbrough advised the commissioners that their employees must acquire their CDL licenses, which will be placed in the Federal Data base.

Judge DeLoach advised that everyone who enters the courthouse must be wearing a face mask, since the COVID-19 virus has affected an employee. “We must do this for the safety of our employees, and for the public,” Judge DeLoach emphasized. He further mentioned that the employees take precautions for their own protection while working. He said they plan to do more testing of the employees.

His main point was for everyone who has business and needs to visit the courthouse, to be wearing a mask.
